Randall Library Renovation — Stow, MA

SMI Environmental is proud to have played a key role in the renovation of the Randall Library at 19 Crescent Street in Stow, Massachusetts — a landmark community project that transformed the historic library for generations to come.
As part of this multi-phase addition and renovation project, SMI was brought on to perform hazardous materials abatement services prior to the commencement of construction. The existing library building, which included an original structure and a 1970s addition, required a thorough assessment and removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM), lead-containing paint, and other hazardous building materials in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Our team coordinated closely with the project's owner's project manager, Colliers Project Leaders, and architect of record, designLAB, to execute abatement activities efficiently within the project's critical path schedule. From pre-abatement planning through final clearance and closeout, SMI ensured that all work was completed safely, compliantly, and in a manner that allowed the broader construction team to proceed without delay.
This project reflects SMI's 30+ years of experience delivering professional abatement and environmental services on complex, publicly funded renovation projects across Massachusetts. We take pride in being a trusted partner on projects that matter to the communities we serve.
